The 20th annual "Remembering the Sights and Sounds of Euclid Beach Park" was held on Sunday, Sept. 28 at Cleveland Metroparks Euclid Beach Park, celebrating the legacy of the amusement park that operated from 1895 to 1969. Visitors enjoyed vintage car displays, historical exhibits, rides in the Euclid Beach Rocket Car, and nostalgic treats while exploring artifacts and memories from the park's heyday.

The Slovenian National Home hosted its third annual Zabava festival, celebrating Cleveland's Slovenian culture and heritage. The free, family-friendly event featured traditional food, music, and activities, including a showcase of the Kurent costume used in the Cleveland Kurentovanje Festival.

The annual Garden Walk Cleveland Heights showcased 54 private gardens for self-guided tours last weekend. Visitors experienced a wide range of garden styles, from traditional English gardens to contemporary art displays, and even a treehouse, highlighting the creativity and diversity of Cleveland Heights' gardening community.

The historic Euclid Beach Arch in Cleveland has been relocated as part of a renovation project spearheaded by local officials. The 1921 wooden structure, which once served as the entrance to Euclid Beach Park, will become the centerpiece of a new public park and preserve the iconic piece of Cleveland's history, is scheduled for completion in 2026.

Troy Parsh started the Amusement Preservation Museum in Grafton to preserve and restore artifacts from Northeast Ohio's historic amusement parks. The museum's collection includes rides, parts, and memorabilia from over 30 Ohio parks, offering visitors a nostalgic journey through the region's rich amusement park history.

The American Institute of Architects Cleveland hosted a lecture on Charles Schweinfurth, a prominent Cleveland architect from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, as part of its Body of Work series. The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad recently hosted the 2025 Steam in the Valley, featuring the 1944 Nickel Plate Road Steam Locomotive No. 765. Passengers rode in restored and vintage rail cars, experiencing steam locomotion, while taking in the scenic views of Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Cleveland Leadership Center's ninth annual Accelerate: Citizens Make Change took place last week, with Anycia Grady’s plan to increase the number of licensed mental health professionals serving Black communities taking home the grand price and the Technovation award. Additionally, 21 high school students on 12 teams showcased their ideas at the new Accelerate: Teen Citizens Make Change competition.

One of the grandest houses on Lakeshore Boulevard in Bratenahl is Moyenage—a 1904 Elizabethan Tudor that has been home to several of Cleveland's most notable business families.
