Fairfax Renaissance Development Corporation
Fairfax Renaissance Development Corporation (FRDC) needs a business development coordinator to provide outreach and technical assistance to Fairfax area businesses to support their growth and sustainability.
The right candidate will be an energetic team player who can develop and maintain relationships, be responsive to business owner's needs, and work as an integral part of the team to spur and maintain revitalization efforts in the area.
Responsibilities include working in tandem with the workforce development manager to advocate for employment opportunities with new businesses and refer businesses to FRDC's workforce program; identifying grant opportunities; and assisting the executive director and senior project manager with real estate projects.
A four-year degree in community/economic development, business, or related field is required, as well as three years of related experience. Must be a team player and have the ability to work with diverse groups of stakeholders, including neighborhood businesses, residents, community-based organization representatives, community leaders, and public officials.

Journey Center for Safety and Healing
The Journey Center for Safety and Healing (formerly known as Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center), which fosters safety and healing for those affected by domestic violence and child abuse and helps prevent abuse through education, advocacy, and systemic change, has two positions available.
The organization needs a grants coordinator to prepare, submit, and manage the grants program with government, foundation, and corporate sources. Responsibilities include researching funding sources, writing proposals for both unrestricted operating revenue and restricted projects, and tracking progress submitted proposals.
A bachelor’s degree or experience with grant writing, grant reporting, and funding research is required. Apply through Journey Center’s website.
The center also needs a full time trauma therapist to provide individual, group, and telehealth therapy services to adult or child victims of child abuse and/or domestic violence. This is position is office and community based.
Responsibilities include providing mental health services, conducting education programs for clients, and additional tasks.
Master’s degree in social work or counseling is required, as well as LSW or LPC. LISW or LPCX is preferred. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Apply through the Journey Center website.
The City of Cleveland Hiring Event
The City of Cleveland will host a hiring event this Friday, Jan. 12 in City Hall Rotunda, 601 Lakeside Ave. E., from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. More than 50 positions with the City are open in many departments, from the Mayor’s Office of Capital Projects to Public Utilities, to Community Development, and more.
