National Hispanic Heritage Month runs between September 15 and October 15, and the organizers behind CentroVilla25—a hub that will nurture Hispanic entrepreneurs, promote cultural pride when it officially opens in December—decided to celebrate with its First Annual Domino Tournament this Saturday, Oct. 12 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Hosted by the Northeast Ohio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, guests are invited to enjoy an exciting day of dominoes, friendly competition, and a sneak peek inside the new CV25, which is scheduled to open this winter at 3140 W. 25th Street in the Clark-Fulton neighborhood.
The games are open to all skill levels, but there will be cash prizes and trophies for the top three teams in the domino tournament —$750 for first place, $500 for second place, and $250 for third place.
Meanwhile, get a sneak peek at CentroVilla25. The kiosks are a hub for cultural exchange and community connection, with the owners offering a variety of local products, unique handcrafted items, delicious foods, and essential services from local entrepreneurs.
Vendors and kiosk owners scheduled to be at the tournament include Algo Diferente; Antojitos Salvadoreños; Cafe Roig; Flying Pig Tacos; Tumbao58; and Panitos.
Free food will be provided by the talented kiosk owners and cocktails will be available for purchase. There will be live entertainment.
When CentroVilla25 opens later this year, In addition to the kiosks it will hold a Latino Centric Food Hall, a specialty grocery and empanada factory, and a commercial kitchen.
There will also be indoor and outdoor event spaces and a business innovation center.
Tickets for the tournament are $70 per two-player team and include registration fee, food, and two drink tickets. Spectator tickets are $40 (minimum) and include entry and food. Doors open at 1 p.m., tournament starts at 2 p.m.
