Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is preparing to light up the holiday season next month when it launches its fifth year of Wild Winter Lights Presented by NOPEC—its biggest holiday celebration that transforms the zoo into a winter wonderland.
Running Tuesday, Nov. 14 through Saturday, Dec. 30, this year’s event features more than 1.5 million lights amid hundreds of dazzling themed displays along the zoo’s holiday trail, which includes an Enchanted Forest and Santa’s Workshop, where guests can take photos with Santa Claus.
This year, Wild Winter Lights will also feature two dynamic musical light shows—one with a 50-foot tree, and one featuring a show on Waterfowl Lake.
Guests can experience Wild Winter Lights on foot or in their vehicles on select dates at the Wild Winter Lights Drive Thru Experience presented by Serpentini Chevrolet.
“We’re so grateful for the support of our community partners in helping to bring back Wild Winter Lights for its fifth year,” said Kelly Manderfield, Cleveland Metroparks Chief Marketing Officer in a statement.
Additional highlights of this year’s event include carousel rides, costumed characters, model train displays, and ice carvers.
Guests can also enjoy holiday treats from Jack Frost Donuts and Kernels by Chrissie, as well as hot chocolate as they experience the festival.
“We are proud and excited to once again partner with the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo for the fifth year to offer an affordable, accessible, family-friendly holiday event,” NOPEC executive director Chuck Keiper said in a statement. “Supporting such a unique event for Northeast Ohio families is just one of the ways NOPEC gives back to the communities we serve."
Wild Winter Lights as well as the Wild Winter Lights Drive-Thru Experience runs from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on select dates from Tuesday, November 14 through Saturday, December 30.
