Every homeowner seems to encounter repairs they wish they knew how to handle.
Learn something about house upkeep at Northwest Neighborhoods' free Do It Yourself Home Repair Workshop. From small fixes to new projects, having the right knowledge and tools can make all the difference. So, Northwest Neighborhoods is hosting a hands-on workshop where neighbors can learn, ask questions, and build the skills to take on home repairs with confidence.
The free Do It Yourself (DIY) Home Repair Workshop will be held on Friday, Aug. 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Story Church, 9900 Madison Ave., in the Cudell-Edgewater neighborhood.
The hands-on evening is meant to bring neighbors together to learn practical home repair skills from local experts, including People’s Plumbing, Smith Brothers Construction, and Each One Teach One, represented by April Battle, lead risk assessor.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, learn helpful tips, and gain the confidence to take on everyday home projects. Whether you’re an experienced DIYer or picking up a tool for the first time, there will be something for everyone.
The workshop will also include an all-ages tool safety demonstration and an activity for kids to enjoy.
The staff at Northwest Neighborhoods believes strong neighborhoods are built when residents have the resources, knowledge, and connections they need to thrive.
The workshop is designed to be a chance to learn alongside neighbors, build new skills, and take another step toward creating a home that residents are proud of.
The Do It Yourself Home Repair Workshop is free, but registration is encouraged.
