After seeing many great creations for this year’s Parade the Circle I feel very overwhelmed with the response of the artists and community groups to our main theme, “Momentum,” [which draws inspiration from the museum's exhibition "American Printed Silks, 1927–1947," running through Monday, Nov. 9].

University Circle Inc.’s Circle Village takes place on the Wade Oval 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Inside the museum, the Atrium activation is from 1 p.m. 3 p.m., with giant traditional puppets from other years, but also a new group of puppets.

The Community Arts Center has been a great place to work to create our new puppets, floats, costumes, masks etc. As we’re getting closer to Saturday, June 13, most of the featured artists have been working late hours. This is very common every year—the difference is we have a new place to work indoors at the Community Arts Center.

The big move started this week from the Community Arts Center to the outdoor tent across from the Cleveland Museum of Art.

The 34th annual Parade the Circle in University Circle is on Saturday, June 13, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The event features vibrant and imaginative costumes, towering puppets, floats, and intricately crafted masks.

This year’s event coincides with the CMA’s 110th anniversary as an institution and the United States Semiquincentennial. This year’s theme, “Momentum,” is inspired by the special exhibition American Printed Silks, 1927–1947, the lived experience of acclaimed lead artist Héctor Castellanos Lara, and the legacy and evolution of our creative community.
