Towards Employment (TE), the non-profit workforce development agency that champions the potential of every person—regardless of their backgrounds—and prepares them to gain meaningful employment—will celebrate the power of Cleveland’s people with “A Work & Reentry Experience” on Monday, Oct. 28 at the Fatima Center and the Hough branch of Cleveland Public Library.
The evening begins with a light dinner and refreshments in Fatima’s Edward and Betty Sloan Children's Learning Center, 6600 Lexington Ave., followed by live performances at the library, 6530 Lexington Ave., with world-renowned jazz artist and Modern Warrior LIVE co-founder Dominick Farinacci, and a storytelling experience with five TE alumni.
The evening is fusion of music, visual imagery, hope, and words with the inspiring stories of Ronnie Cannon, Alisha Brooks-Hall, Jaymone Whitaker, La Tonya Cliff, and Tracy Patton, as they share their experiences overcoming challenges and achieving triumphs in their paths to work and successful reentry.
Dominick Farinacci is the recipient of the 2022 Cleveland Arts Prize, a TED Speaker, and headliner in the 2023 Tri-C JazzFest Cleveland. Farinacci co-created the national touring production Modern Warrior LIVE, an immersive music and narrative experience that chronicles the story of US Army veteran Jaymes Poling and his journey through three deployments in Afghanistan and subsequent transition back home.
Seats are limited. Registration is strongly recommended, but not required.
