Cleveland’s iconic duo, DJ Castronaut and DJ Guilty Pleasures will spin the ultimate nostalgia-fueled set at MIX: 90s Homecoming.Things are hopping at the Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA) this weekend, and organizers are looking for the museum’s biggest fans to shut it down during the final weekend of its summer blockbuster exhibition, “Takashi Murakami: Stepping on the Tail of a Rainbow,” as well as celebrate back to school time with its September MIX: 90s Homecoming.
This Friday, Sept. 5 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., combine the back-to-school season with the unforgettable energy of the 1990s with MIX: 90s Homecoming in the Ames Family Atrium.
Dust off your Doc Martens or your Air Jordans, throw on your freshest fanny pack, flannel or color block shirt, and get ready to dance all night!
Cleveland’s iconic duo, Cassie Trainer (DJ Castronaut) and Rachel Hunt (DJ Guilty Pleasures), spin the ultimate nostalgia-fueled set featuring your favorite boy-band classics, girl-group anthems, grunge tracks, and hip-hop beats.
Be sure to check out Trainer’s custom-designed interactive selfie station—packed with 90s flare and memorabilia in the style of the Paradise Galleria, an Ohio City vintage “Mall of Dreams,” that she co-owns. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., join staff from the CMA’s Studio Go—a mobile art-making van, in which attendees create retro buttons in the bold and fun style of the ’90s.
Themed food and drinks inspired by your favorite movies from the decade, including cocktails, beer, and wine, are available to purchase from Bon Appétit. This is how we do it; it’s Friday night!
Tickets for MIX range from $5 to $25, and admission is free for CMA Members.
