Show off how you’re faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and tout your ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound on the dance floor when the Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA) hosts MIX: Man of Steel on Friday, April 3.
Wave Magnetik blends music styles and the trumpet to create a world that straddles the line between jazz and electronic music.Dance the night away in the CMA Ames Family Atrium at the monthly MIX dance party, which will be celebrating Cleveland’s hometown superhero, Superman, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Ohio-based musician and producer Wave Magnetik (aka Donald Malloy), who blends electronic music, folk sounds, and the trumpet to create a world that straddles the line between jazz and electronic music, will mix a set of electronic dance music that incorporates original music, contemporary favorites, and even an occasional remixed superhero theme song.

Superhero-inspired food and drink items, including cocktails, beer, and wine, are available to purchase from Bon Appétit.

In addition to the music and dance moves, many organizations will activate the atrium with Superman-related activities.

• Siegel & Shuster Society will host a Clark Kent and Lois Lane look-alike contest from 6 p.m. to 7:20 p.m., with winners announced at 7:30 p.m.
• The Ohio Center for the Book at Cleveland Public Library will set up a display of Superman memorabilia from its collection.
• Carol and John’s Comic Shop in the Kamm’s Corners neighborhood will give away free Superman comics to the first 500 MIX: Man of Steel guests.
• The Rust Belt Humanities Lab at Ursuline College will hand out free buttons with cartoons by Superman artist Sina Grace.
• Sequoia Bostick, cofounder of Vagabond Comics, and Anna Meyer, creator of the graphic novel Saint Catherine, will be at MIX to draw cartoons of attendees.
• Superscript Comics and Games will provide a superhero photo op activation.
